Primary Mission

 

A craftsman with extensive skill and experience in the area of concrete. The finisher will generally have a specific tool inventory and may need direction to perform more advanced tasks.

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Places concrete to final line and grade with the appropriate finish.
  • Able to point and patch concrete after forms are removed, involving working above ground safely, while on falsework, ladders, and/or scissor lifts.
  • Able to perform carpentry work as needed between placing and finishing task.
  • Able to work and assist others to work in a safe manner within the guidelines of the company’s policies.
  • Must be able to work off the ground and handle materials and equipment up to 80 lbs.
  • Any other task assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum of 2+ years in the concrete phase of bridge/heavy highway construction.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

 

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

 

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
